Physiotherapy is beneficial to dogs in all walks of life, from working dogs, competitive dogs, to companions.

Treatments and assessments cost £40 per dog.
Discounts are available when multiples are booked in.
Equine treatment and Assessment
Equines in any level of work benefit from physiotherapy, and enjoy it!
Through physiotherapy it is possible to treat a multitude of conditions such as:
- Arthritis
- Ligament/tendon injuries
- Muscle strains,
- Sacroiliac conditions
- Kissing spines
- Postural/Confrontational weaknesses
Physiotherapy isn't just for injuries, it is beneficial for the maintenance of all horses!
The horse will have a detailed and thorough assessment, including gait analysis, Range of motion assessments and palpation. Using this assessment, we will be able to assess the areas of weakness, muscle asymmetry, and areas of pain.
Another important part of physiotherapy is weight loss management, where the owner will be given exercise techniques, general management advice and nutrition advice.
Assessment and treatment cost £55 per horse.

Exercise prescription demonstrations
An important aspect of physiotherapy is to encourage to correct movement of the limbs, along with equal weight distribution, improved proprioception, weight loss
and many more benefits.
Exercises are prescribed to achieve these goals, these exercises will undoubtedly vary from animal to animal.
To ensure the owner/handler is comfortable and confident in performing these exercises, we offer a tutorial session, solely focused on achieving the most from each exercise.
Exercise prescription £25 for an hour session.

Whilst SM Veterinary Physiotherapy specialises in Equine and Canine treatment, we are able to treat a much wider variety of animals at your request.
